Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Bhajan Dhun ("Bhajan Dhun", "we") collects on bhajandhun.com, why, and the choices you have. It is written in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. Please also read our Terms & Conditions.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — name, e-mail address and password (stored encrypted) when you create an account; e-mail verification codes.
• Birth details — name, date, time and place of birth (and the place's latitude/longitude) that you enter for kundli, matching, rashifal or the astrologer. For free tools these are used to calculate the result and are not stored against your account. For a paid report they are stored with the order so the report can be opened again from its private link.
• Questions to Dhun Special Astrologer — the questions you ask and your question count (to apply the 3 free questions).
• Devotion activity — favourites, playlists, listening progress, history and festival reminders you choose to save.
• Payments — order amount, Razorpay order and payment IDs, payment status and the e-mail/phone you give at checkout. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay and are not received by us.
• Partners (astrologers and bhajan teams) — name, mobile number, city, profile, photos, videos and portfolio, team member details, services, prices and availability, payout bank or UPI details, and a record of agreements you accept (version, date and time, IP address and browser).
• Bookings and messages — booking details, event address and messages exchanged through Bhajan Dhun.
• Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and basic logs, used for security, rate-limiting and to improve the site.

2. How we use your information

To provide the services you ask for (calculate charts, deliver reports, answer questions, show your saved items); to process payments and send receipts and report links; to run the marketplace (verify partners, handle bookings, payouts and disputes); to send service e-mails such as verification codes and reminders you turned on; to keep the site secure and prevent fraud and abuse; to understand usage and improve Bhajan Dhun; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Who we share it with

• Razorpay — to process payments and refunds.
• Marketplace partners — when you book an astrologer or team, they receive the details needed for that booking (for example, your name, birth details for a consultation, or event details).
• Service providers who process data on our behalf: web hosting and e-mail delivery; OpenStreetMap / Nominatim (only the place name you type, to find coordinates); Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (only katha / aarti text, to create audio); an AI provider for AI features such as the yatra planner (only the text you submit to that feature); and, if enabled, Google Analytics (usage statistics). Videos and live streams are embedded from platforms such as YouTube, which may set their own cookies when you play them.
• Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the site.

Some of these providers may store data outside India, with appropriate safeguards and as permitted by Indian law.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure forms. Your browser's local storage keeps preferences such as text size, voice choice and recently bought report links on your own device. Analytics cookies are used only when analytics is enabled. You can clear cookies and storage in your browser at any time.

5. How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is active. Paid report orders, payment and invoice records, partner agreements and booking records are kept for as long as needed for the service and as required by tax and accounting laws (generally up to 8 years). Logs are kept for a limited period for security. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted passwords, restricted admin access, rate limits and audit logs, and we keep payment-gateway secrets on the server only. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will inform you and the authorities of a personal data breach as required by law.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access a summary of your personal data, correct or update it, delete your account and data (except records we must keep by law), withdraw consent for optional processing, and nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity. Write to us using the contact details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Children

Bhajan Dhun's accounts, payments and partner services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children under 18 without verifiable consent of a parent or guardian, and we do not track or target advertising at children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Effective date" at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
